Great rustic ambience, matching the traditional cuisine. Fabulous meat specialties and friendly service also attracted positive attention. The price was perfectly reasonable. I will definitely come back again.

Old-established restaurant with very tasty dishes. Bavarian specialties. Table reservation is recommended as it is always well attended. Prices moderate. Extremely friendly staff. The restaurant is an institution in Dieburg. You always like to come back.

Great location for traditional german food

Highly recommended for all who live in and around Dieburg. Service and service are great and the food was delicious. Liver dumpling soup and schnitzel tasted great.

Nice Place.

We were there for dinner tonight. We sat in the heat in the courtyard and ate very tasty. The pork fillet medallions with cognac-pepper-cream sauce was fantastic, especially the meat was tender pink and juicy on the point The veal schnitzel my husband ate was also super tender and tasty. Very friendly and attentive service. We were there for the first time today, but definitely not for the last time

Ate there. very nice service, good home-style cuisine. If we're hungry for local food, I can only recommend it there. You should inquire in advance whether a table is still available, which is usually the case if you are flexible in terms of time. My favorite when it comes to German cuisine in the Dieburg / Groß-Umstadt area. The employees respond to extra requests, remain very polite and courteous no matter what. If I could give more stars I would do it. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the hotel and I abstain from it.

Delicious food, nice rustic but not dark ambience. Menu with regional / seasonal daily menu. Food was fresh, with high quality ingredients. Service was also accommodating, gladly again.

This hotel was selected by my friend for me to stay in while visiting him this week because of its central location in Dieburg. There is a full-service bank across the street and a great restaurant on the ground floor. The fact that it has a restaurant below the rooms is typical for German inns (guest houses) but it is not so typical for American hotels. In the USA, the majority of hotels are chains. They are less personalized and more commercial. To find the intensely personalized experience (that you get here in Dieburg) in the USA, one must search for Bed and Breakfast locations. The main difference between them is here in Germany, these are commercially built facilities for hosting small and large groups and they treat guests in a regular and professional manner. The bathrooms and sleeping rooms are small but (in every case that I've seen) they have only private bathrooms. The restaurants are extremely localized in the German inns. You will always be able to eat local foods and drink local beverages. The people who own and the local people who frequently eat at these local restaurants are neighbors and know each other. These are living, breathing community centers. In America, this type of place - I am sorry to say - simply does not exist. You can't find a bed and breakfast with this community serving function or that is built to such high standards. I have not seen one in my wide journeying, over more than 40 years of business and pleasure travel. Either you will find a commercial hotel with bland generalized foods owned by large companies, or small bed and breakfasts that began as private homes. Hotels provide standard, largely impersonal experiences. Bed and breakfast locations are as unique as the people who own them and one can't expect (or expect a guarantee of) a professional experience. One may get treated as though they were a hotel guest in a bed and breakfast, on one day. But the next day at the same location, one may find that the experience is completely different. Better or worse. What can you do? You also will very rarely find local people visiting or eating at bed and breakfast locations in the USA. They are only frequented by people from out of town. You can't learn about the larger community, the average person. Added Tuesday (Fasching) morning: I just had a great breakfast here in the Schmankerlburg Inn. It was not the biggest or the best but it was perfect. Scrambled eggs cooked to specication, a generous cold cut meat and cheese plate, crispy freshly baked rolls, a small selection of yogurts, a variety of prepackaged "Brots" of which I took all three, and then at my pre-set table for one I was served a large pot of freshly brewed coffee with 3% milk and sugar, salt and pepper. Topping it off was the festive napkin beside my plate, just used for guests at Fasching.

Fabulous food, women who ran bar and restaurant were great, friendly, attentive, and very welcoming to this non-german speaking visitor. Best meal i had on my two week holiday in FRANKFURT area. A friend and i arrived at dinner time on a Thursday evening and the quaint little restaurant was full, but i asked if they could SQUEEZE two more in and they made accommodation at the bar and the rest is history. They were HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY AN EXCELLENT TOUR GUIDE I HAD HIRED IN DIEBURG SO I PUSHED ( LIKE A TYPICAL PUSHY AMERICAN ) AND WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY.

Again in the Bavarian Embassy in Dieburg. Actually, a permanent representative 😃 Asparagus time! Delicious here. I'm looking forward to the game goulash, of course Bavarian style! Try it, the Bavarian says pound 👍 Always nice and relaxed, vacation with Bavarian-inspired food in a rustic atmosphere, consistently high quality, keep it up!

Very tasty, good bourgeois food at fair prices. Pleasant cozy atmosphere. We often come back again and again. One of the operations is the perfect example of good service. On special days, there is usually a separate card. The toilets need a little appreciation. Otherwise everything was great. Thank you for some nice evenings.

Friendly stuff, great location, quite comfortable. No elevator and stairs at the entrance. There is no reception; the hallway is a corridor in between the restaurant and the kitchen.

Food was very good! I am visiting for work so hopefully on another trip we will come back.
